Can you see what I type?

No. The keyboard reads your keystrokes only to insert them into the app you are typing in — nothing is logged, stored, or sent. On iOS this is enforced by the operating system rather than by our promise: the keyboard runs without "Full Access", and iOS denies network access entirely to a keyboard extension in that mode, so it is technically incapable of transmitting anything.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. A photo you choose is copied into the app's own private storage on your device and used only to draw your keyboard. It never leaves the device and we never receive it.

How do I enable the keyboard?

Android — Settings → System → Languages & input → On-screen keyboard → Manage keyboards → enable Hacker Keyboard, then switch to it with the keyboard icon while typing.

iOS — Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard… → Hacker Keyboard. Then long-press the globe key while typing and pick it. You do not need to grant "Full Access" — please don't; the keyboard is designed to work without it.

I enabled it but it doesn't appear when I type

You still need to switch to it. Tap the globe or keyboard icon on your current keyboard and select Hacker Keyboard. On Android you may also need to set it as the default input method.

How do I get back to my normal keyboard?

Tap the globe key on the keyboard, or long-press it to choose from your installed keyboards.

I bought "Unlock All" but the PRO themes are still locked

Open the app and use Restore Purchases. This re-applies your entitlement as long as you are signed into the same Google Play or Apple account you purchased with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us.

Is there a subscription?

No. There is a single one-time purchase, and the "use my own photo" feature is free.

Can I use it in any app?

Yes — it is a system keyboard, so it works anywhere you can type.

My keys are hard to read over a bright photo

Increase background dim and key opacity in Customize, and try a lighter key text colour. Both are per-theme, so a setting you pick for one background doesn't affect the others.

Exercising your data rights

Because there is no account and no identifiable data, uninstalling the app removes everything stored about you — your settings and any chosen photo go with it.
